Founder Nuno Matos Cabral Design Studio & Head of Creativity of Gato Preto
After doing several interior design projects in Portugal, some of them published in the press, in 2009, he went to Milan to do a Master in Interior Design, at the Politecnico di Milano, and never stopped, having done projects in different cities around the world, namely Paris, New York and Istanbul. In 2009/2010, still in Milan, he participated in a project in collaboration with one Italian studio for the creation of the interiors of an exhibition presented at the Design Museum.
In 2013, he decided to demystify all the rules about decoration and give ideas to transform our homes, through the website, Primeira Casa da Rua where the motto is: "Nothing is wasted, everything is transformed". Sustainability is one of Nuno Matos Cabral's values and all the projects he heads.
In 2016, he designed a piece of furniture, produced for a Portuguese brand and launched at Maison Et Objet, in Paris. In 2017 he launched the first furniture pieces signed by Nuno Matos Cabral Design Studio in his own name. In 2018, Nuno Matos Cabral was a Portuguese ambassador as part of the International Crafts Fair in Lisbon. In 2019 he designed the Women in Tech award produced by Vista Alegre.
In 2020 he collaborated again with Vista Alegre and with Bordallo Pinheiro in the styling of several dining tables. He participated in Campus Party, broadcasted to over 31 countries in more than 5 continents and launched the first Sustainable House Guide in digital format, where living the house in a sustainable way is the motto.
In 2021 he started collaborating with the brand Gato Preto, where at the beginning of 2022 he took on the role of Head of Creativity, with product creation and Visual Merchandiser as main responsibilities. Nuno Matos Cabral just won a Special Mention with the sideboard Metamorphose awarded by German Design Council and another one awarded by SIT, Furniture Design Award. He already collaborated with several national and international brands such as Vista Alegre, Bordallo Pinheiro, Absolut Vodka, Sapo, Ambipur or Leroy Merlin. Since 2001 he is looking for new challenges. Obsessed with details and sustainable develop.
