Flavio Castro
Flávio Castro started early in his career. He had the opportunity to start at the age of 20, effectively working at architectural practices both in and out of the country. As a supporter of the idea that practical experience complements academic theory, he has always sought to act in both areas.
Having spent three years in Barcelona to obtain his Masters Degree from the Polytechnique University of Catalunya, he came back to São Paulo in 2009 when he founded the FCstudio. Having been awarded prizes from the IAB – Institute of Brazilian Architects – and the IPA – Institute of Advertising Practitioners in the UK, he has already exhibited his work in the 8th Architectural Biennial in 2009 and international magazines, such as Domus and Wallpaper, have already published his work. Recently, he has been working on a project that takes into consideration the impact of his clients’ lifetime history on his work: that which converts buildings into architecture.
