Product Designer
Marco Ciacci is a young product designer who grew up in Venice and graduated from the Faculty of Design and Art at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano in 2022 with a thesis entitled ‘Faucet redesign’, supervised by Nitzan Cohen and Aart van Bezooijen.
He worked as product designer at Studio Harry Thaler, Merano, in 2022, and later Moved to Milan, to work with Dotdotdot in 2023. Some of his work was exhibited during MDW2023 and now he is a master student at the Product design department of at ECAL University of Art and Design, Lausanne. He is inspired in form by German modernism’s aesthetics and ideology by contemporary reflections on the circular economy, recycling, and sustainability.
His approach, through his attention to detail, care for the materials chosen and interest in past and future production techniques, is aware of the socio-political issues associated with the profession and actively proposes solutions to the problems associated with mass production. His work is mainly related to product design but contains examples of architecture, public space design and exhibit design. Most of his projects were developed at the Free University of Bolzano/Bozen with lecturers such as Francesco Faccin, Nina Bassoli, Steffen Kehrle, Skåtar Fredrik, Hans Leo Höger, Klaus Hackl, and Riccardo Berrone.
