Sidarta And Sandjaja was formally established by seasoned architects Patisandhika Sidarta and Tommy Sandjaja in 2018, having successfully completed several preceding design collaborations as two separate architectural design firms. Previously the pair gained a combined 18 years of experience at andramatin, worked extensively for key projects such as Potato Head Beach Club, The Katamama, the wedding chapel at Raffles Hotel Sanya and the Secret Garden.
As a company, Sidarta And Sandjaja (SAS) adopt a multi-disciplinary approach into architecture design, incorporating architecture, special lighting, landscape, interior design, graphic design and sustainability onto their core of services. With an ambitious goal of becoming Indonesia’s and Asia’s premier hospitality architecture designer, the firm possesses a comprehensive understanding of economic feasibility in their projects, thoughtfully balancing financial implications and the resulting architectural aesthetics. SAS also places great importance on practicality and design sensibility in each of its projects, learning from past experiences the basic principle of user-first in every project.
In SAS, the pursuit in architecture circles around creating places that evoke feelings and translate visions. Through the idea of localized modernism, local heritage, materials and processes are all consciously taken into careful consideration.
With an exciting team of talents in both Jakarta and Bali, the studio’s has been anticipating many of its earlier projects in Indonesia on track for built completion in 2022 and has an international folio in Cambodia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Japan, Tanzania and beyond. Inspired by internationally recognized architects such as Kerry Hill and Jaya Ibrahim, the firm has a strong belief that through focus, hard work and persistence, its ultimate goal is achievable after all.
